Facts About Education City Stadium – The FIFA World Cup 2022 is just a few days away and eight venues have been finalized to host all 64 matches. Out of these eight venues, one is Education City Stadium. It is one of the important stadiums which is scheduled to host multiple FIFA World Cup matches. The Education City Stadium is a football stadium located in Al Rayyan, Qatar. It was built as part of the preparation for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which will be held in the Gulf country. The stadium is located among the campus buildings of several universities that make up the Qatar Foundation’s Education City.

It was completed in June 2016. It is the third stadium selected for the World Cup, and it is the venue for the FIFA World Cup 2022. The stadium can hold up to 40,000 soccer fans. Once the World Cup is over, the capacity will decrease to 25,000. The stadium was designed by ASTAD, an engineering consultancy located in Doha, Qatar. The project managers were Pattern Design and Fenwick Iribarren Architects.

The stadium’s design incorporates elements from Islamic architecture. It features an exterior facade with triangles in a diamond-like pattern. LED sports lighting is installed throughout the stadium, and it also features water-efficient irrigation systems and carbon dioxide sensors to reduce the building’s carbon footprint. The stadium’s green credentials have earned it a five-star rating from the Global Sustainability Assessment System.

The Education City Stadium was built by the Qatar SC, which stands for the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy. It is Qatar’s third stadium and is very different from Al-Janoub and Al-Khalifa International stadiums. It is designed by a Spanish company, which also designed the Al-Thumama and Ras Abu Aboud stadiums.

Matches to be hosted by Education City Stadium

The stadium will host soccer events from the group stages through the quarter-finals. The first match at the stadium will be Denmark vs. Tunisia. This match will take place on 22nd November. The Education City Stadium will host a total of eight matches which include 6 group stage matches, one round of 16 and one-quarter finals.
